2020 Reading List

I finished reading my last book of 2020 around noon on December 31st, 2020. My last book was the awesome middle grade book Everlasting Nora by Marie Miranda Cruz (even my 7-year-old loved it).

I really loved and enjoyed every single book I read in 2020. In fact, what makes me so excited is the fact that I was able to not just meet but surpass my 2020 reading challenge!! 
Of course, this was not always the case. I've tried meeting my reading challenge for years (since 2016) and I had never been able to complete it...until 2020.

When I look back at previous years' reading challenge I'm filled with disappointment. In fact, I didn't even give myself a reading challenge in 2017 because I failed previous challenges. Then I started thinking that one reason why I wasn't reaching my reading goals was because I was setting my goal too high.  I realized that in order to reach a goal, we must take small steps and stay consistent. So, this is exactly what I did for 2020. I set a goal of 12 books thinking there are 12 months in a year - so I should be able to at least read a book a month. It worked!!
Not only I met my goal - I surpassed my goal by more than double and the feeling of accomplishment is fantastic.  Lesson learned!!

I find Goodreads to be an effective  platform to not only keep track of readings but also to share with others reviews and thoughts on a particular book. I also like to see what others are reading and add them to my to-read list.
