Just in case you are keeping up with my doctorate journey...I'd like to share my strategies to assignments. As an English language learner, I am always applying strategies I teach my students to be successful in literature assignments. Here's my stamina strategy:
I had to read a 29 page article and annotate... This week, my homework assignment consisted on reading 2 articles (lengthy), and 2 chapters from our Critical Thinking book, and respond to our readings SUBSTANTIVELY! Anyway, as soon as I saw the assignments my I felt a knot in my stomach…SO MUCH!!! My ELL brain quickly dismissed my potential and fear took over me. But, fear is just an emotion! I’ve taught my students how to target lengthy texts…including text above their grade level.
